Heron Tower

Situated at 110, Bishopsgate, London, Heron Tower, stretches 202 metres into the skyline and will be finished with a 28 metre mast giving an overall height of 230 metres, the tallest building in London.

The 46-storey development is being constructed by Skanska and is on schedule to be completed in February 2011.

Heron Tower will be a world-class office building at the heart of London’s main financial district. It will provide over 40,800 square metres of commercial office space, setting the standard for offices of the future and incorporating a number of unique features. A concierge-style, triple-height entrance hall which includes a 70,000 litre aquarium and ten high-speed double-decker lifts. A public restaurant and sky bar on floors 38-40 giving unparalleled views across the City and beyond.

Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, sustainability is high on the agenda; it uses photovoltaic cells to generate renewable energy and help create a solar shield. In addition, triple skin glazed facades will reduce heat gain and loss by 45% over standard glazing. the building achieved a BREEAM rating of ‘Excellent’ in January 2010.

Working closely with Skanska, the Gemini Group secured a subcontractor agreement to undertake specialised steelwork on the amazing building. After an independent survey, the Gemini Group were contracted to supply and fix steel to the floors on levels 38 & 41 to a specialist design brief which has now been fully completed
